Learning through topics in the Distance Learning
In Primary we have developed a topic-based approach to learning which links some subjects together to teach the skills and knowledge that underpin the whole curriculum. We use a number of different and progressive topics in each year group.
These topics enable children to develop key skills and knowledge whilst covering all curriculum content in an exciting, engaging cross curricular way. This inquiry led approach includes visits and first hand experiences, wow events to motivate and inspire children and purposeful outcomes which gives our learning meaning and a reason for doing!
Our topic based learning is a personalised approach which enables all children to access and become fully immersed in their learning. This encourages not only a love of life long learning and inquiry but greater independence too.
